National Service Scheme:

Government Degree College, Baruva has two active NSS units with 300 volunteers and two lecturers acting as Program Officers. The N.S.S. units conduct Special Camps on annual basis with an emphasis on areas like Public Sanitation, Plastic eradication, Anti Drug usage awareness, Health and Hygiene and Awareness on Social and Cultural issues.

As a part of the Annual Action Plan, Clean and Green, Tree Plantation, Observing Aids Day and Blood Donation Camps are held regularly. The units have adopted Gollagandi, Vodapalem and Kothuru villages, and has been providing education on Public Sanitation and other areas.

This Institution is exploring the possibility of conducting an Inter-University NSS Camp on the Need for Spreading Awareness on Construction of Toilets in Rural India. Proposals are also sent the NSS Coordinator, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Etchelrla, Srikakulam District.
